Why is a Certified Constructruction Reviewer (CCR) needed for your construction project?
- Most construction projects in Delaware are required
by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) to have both approved Erosion and Sediment Control Plan and approved Stormwater Management Plan.
- A CCR is required to monitor the construction and operation of these facilities for the duration of the project.
- It is the responsibility of the owner/developer to provide a CCR on required sites, and the responsibility of the contractor to construct necessary controls and to communicate and cooperate
with the CCR and DNREC under established guidelines.
What does the CCR do?
- The CCR performs weekly sediment and stormwater reviews of the site and documents the findings in a specified report format.
- These weekly reports are reviewed by a registered and licensed supervisory Delaware Professional Engineer (P.E.) before forwarding to the appropriate monitoring
agency.
- The CCR and/or P.E. can direct adjustments in the plans and practices and, in the extreme, can recommend a stop work order be issued in the event of serious disregard for the
intentions of the regulations.
